Hours check

Dahlonega Sweets Open on Sunday and Monday

The short answer

Of the 13 Dahlonega bakeries and sweets places that publish day-by-day hours on their own sites, 12 list Sunday hours and 11 list Monday hours (checked Oct 19, 2026). Here is the side-by-side table, who closes on Tuesday and Wednesday, what that means for a weekend or Monday trip, and which places to call before you drive up.

Short answer: a Sunday or Monday trip to Dahlonega still has plenty of sweets. We could confirm 16 bakeries and sweets places as of Oct 19, 2026, and 13 of them publish exact day-by-day hours on their own site. Twelve of those 13 list Sunday hours. Eleven list Monday hours. The quiet days fall in the middle of the week, and they hit a few restaurants and out-of-town cafes, not the fudge, chocolate and ice cream counters on the Square.

Every time below is as listed on the business’s own site, checked Oct 19, 2026. Hours change with the seasons, so treat this as a starting point. Our bakery hours page carries the same data as a live table that shows who is open right now on Dahlonega’s clock.

Blue Bench Garden 425 Porter Springs Rd, a short drive Closed Closed

Three more makers we list publish no storefront hours at all: Nonni’s Bakery works by appointment only, and Whisked Bakery and L & R Feathered Goats sold at the 2026 Dahlonega Farmers Market, which is now off-season. See our farmers market bakers page for that side of town.

Sunday: an early start and a long afternoon

The earliest Sunday opening we found is DQ Grill & Chill at 6:30 a.m., per its store page. Picnic Cafe and Foothill Grill both list 7 a.m. Foothill’s own site says it has fresh cinnamon rolls every morning and adds, “get there early,” per Foothill Grill. Bourbon Street Grille serves Saturday and Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and beignets are on that brunch menu, per Bourbon Street Grille.

The candy and chocolate counters open later. The Fudge Factory lists 11 a.m., Kilwins and Connie’s list noon, and Paul Thomas Chocolates lists 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. If you arrive on the Square before late morning, the cafe is your first stop, not the fudge.

The Smith House lists Sunday hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in its October hours, and its family-style price includes dessert, per The Smith House. In the evening, Paul Thomas, Kilwins, the Fudge Factory, Connie’s and Bourbon Street Grille all list 8 p.m. closings, and DQ lists 9:15 p.m.

Monday: the Square stays open, one big restaurant does not

Monday is a normal day for most of the Square. The one large gap is The Smith House, whose October hours list Tuesday through Sunday and do not list Monday at all. If a family-style dessert is part of your plan, move it to another day.

Bourbon Street Grille is open Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and its lunch and dinner menu lists Beignets (4), the Paul Thomas Beignet, Seasonal Bread Pudding and Bananas Foster. Paul Thomas Chocolates opens at 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday, earlier than on Sunday.

Watch the ice cream clock on Monday. Connie’s lists 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, so after 6 p.m. your scoop options are Kilwins (until 8 p.m.) and DQ (until 9:15 p.m.).

Tuesday and Wednesday: where the gaps are

  • Bourbon Street Grille lists Tuesday and Wednesday as closed.
  • The Bear Necessities Cafe lists Tuesday as closed.
  • The Smith House lists lunch only, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Blue Bench Garden, the farm bakery out on Porter Springs Road, is open Fridays and Saturdays only, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and its farm shop is closed Sunday through Thursday, per Blue Bench Garden.

Everyone else in the table lists hours all seven days: Picnic Cafe, Foothill Grill, DQ, Paul Thomas, Kilwins, the Fudge Factory, Connie’s and the General Store.

What this means for your trip

Weekend trip. Friday and Saturday are the late nights. Paul Thomas, Kilwins, the Fudge Factory, the General Store and Connie’s all list 9 p.m. closings on Friday and Saturday, and Bourbon Street Grille lists 10 p.m. Saturday is also the only weekend day Blue Bench Garden is open. Sunday evenings close earlier at most counters.

Monday trip. It works. Start with a cinnamon roll at Foothill Grill or a muffin at Picnic Cafe, walk the Square in the afternoon, and plan dessert at Bourbon Street Grille instead of The Smith House.

Midweek trip. Tuesday and Wednesday take Bourbon Street Grille off the list and shorten The Smith House to lunch. The fudge, chocolate and ice cream counters are unaffected.

Call these places before you go

  • Picnic Cafe & Dessertery. Its own site (copyright 2018) prints “7am-6:30pm everyday,” while the Dahlonega DDA directory lists different day-by-day hours. We show the cafe’s own hours, but its page may be out of date. Call (706) 864-1095.
  • The Smith House. Its hours are labeled “October Restaurant Hours,” so expect them to change in November.
  • The Dahlonega Fudge Factory. Its page shows a “New Store Hours” banner (used here) and an older “Winter Store Hours: Daily 11-7” block, and says hours vary seasonally.
  • The Bear Necessities Cafe. Its own site and the DDA directory differ on hours and phone. We use the cafe’s own site: (706) 482-2233.
  • Any holiday. None of the places in this guide publishes December or holiday hours online.
