The short answer

Credits for the photographs and map data on the Dahlonega Bakery Guide. Photos of the Square and the Gold Museum were taken in Dahlonega; the food photos are generic photos taken elsewhere and do not show Dahlonega businesses. Every photo is openly licensed from Wikimedia Commons or Flickr, and the map is drawn from OpenStreetMap.

Last checked October 20, 2026

Every photograph on the Dahlonega Bakery Guide is a real photograph used under a public-domain or Creative Commons license, from Wikimedia Commons or Flickr, with its credit listed below. Nothing here is a generated image presented as a photo. The map is drawn from OpenStreetMap data (OpenStreetMap contributors).

Two kinds of photos, labeled plainly

  • Dahlonega photos. The pictures of the Public Square and the Gold Museum in the old courthouse were taken in Dahlonega. Some were taken years ago, and a storefront in a photo may have changed since, so the place cards, not the photos, tell you what is there now.
  • Generic food photos. The pictures of cinnamon rolls, pie, fudge, chocolates, cakes, bread and ice cream are generic photos taken elsewhere. They show a kind of treat. They do not show any Dahlonega business or its products, and we never caption them as if they did.
  • Where we have no photo of a place, we show none rather than a stand-in.

Video

Map

  • Map drawn for this site from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). Pin locations come from each place's cited source.

Map sources

Streets, paths, water and buildings on our map come from OpenStreetMap. Pin positions come from OpenStreetMap or an address lookup, and each place’s details say which. Places we could not confirm operating are left off the map, and so is any place without exact coordinates, such as Blue Bench Garden’s farm. It is a planning map, not turn-by-turn directions.

For parking, the city publishes its own downtown parking map (City of Dahlonega). Our parking page summarizes it with the date we checked.
